Yes, it has already been long. Originaly after the surgery it was supposed to be "ho home after 3-5 days. But here we are a month later.
She had part of her intestine removed that had cancer. So I think that part is ok now. But it's getting her strength back.

Non work related-but related to my work-lol

There are people working on statistics for the summer season-so they asked me about PCT hiker box resupply #''s and I was able to do that-but in my search in my email I noticed I missed 2 emails in the beginning of the month from people asking me about my perspective on the flooding etc etc-and it was reporters-I'm not supposed to comment as a postal worker but I can comment as a resident.
But I was so busy with just going to see my mom-I wasnt' looking at emails. Probably better that I missed them-I would have ended up saying something dumb probably. :D

She came home last Friday and I get to be here with her for this first week. The facility was really great and her in home care specialist so far has been really great too. I mean not everything has been perfect, but it is getting better.

yeah, crazy!

Today was day 1 of my first day back to what should be a "normal" work week. And by normal I mean that I think this place is depressing now-especially in the winter and I am extremely unmotivated and un challenged. Its lame, I really can't stand it anymore.

Worked overtime most of last week.

Worked a full day Saturday.

Worked 4 hours Sunday.

Worked a bunch of overtime tonight.

The world is burning and I'm too tired to care.

Which is what they want...

There have been reporters in the valley-reporting on the flooding from December and all things of this area. One will be here today and wants to ask me questions about hikers. But I had to get the questions ahead of time and send them to our PR person.
I was like "What are they going to do? Fire me" But then when our social media policy came out again this week-it was pretty strong and I decided I didn't feel like getting fired right now.

I am protesting all work meetings.
I faithfully go to them even tho 95% have nothing to do with my location.
I am kind of pissy.
Been evacuated from my home for a week
And it is snowing

I convinced my boss and the higher ups to allow me to be closed on Saturdays.

This summer will look different.
The lodge at the boat landing is closed because of the land slides that happened in December. That means the restaurant and store are closed too. I am basically the only operational building at the landing.
It is like a ghost town.
I havent' been able to get extra help hired for the summer
and when I borrow someone, they usually stay at the lodge.

So instead of working 6 days a week, I work 5 for a couple of months until it gets busier.
Hopefully the store will at least open.
Its a mess up here
but there are things open and we are trying to get people up here this summer so it isn't a total loss of a season.

My stress level went down a bunch when my boss approved it.
