Well, here is how it went.
They offered me a job after the interview and I said yes. And I start on Tuesday.
I really wanted to say ," I will think about it" but those words did not escape my lips.
The bank hasn't offered me a job yet.
The vet office might have benefits beginning in the new year....
But at least this time I know and can apply for other benefits myself, or not. Last time I went through the employment service they strung me along and I made the mistake of not finding out.

I am nervous about dealing with dying animals or sick or injured animals. And chemicals or cleaning or needles!

On the plus side it is busier than the bank.

The bank never called me anyway-SO THIS IS IT!

I think it will be okay.
Just learning a new job is hectic at first, and then add the emotional part. I am going to need another personality just to deal with that part!

Well that sucks.

I may be out of a job again already. I don't think it is working out! I will know more details tomorrow.

(I also suspect there is an issue with the fact that they hired me through an employment agency and are just realizing how much that will cost them) That is what I am telling myself anyway! It has nothing to do with me taking a nap with the cats and dogs or eating their treats or sniffing too much cat nip during lunch.

The employment agency has been no help so I wrote to the vet directly.

It was nothing I did and they thought I was professional enough they are concerned that I would be affected by euthenasia of animals and suffer from compassion fatigue. This could be true for sure. They aslso stated that they were looking for someone more genial and outgoing.
Next time I won't hold back!

It doesn't seem appropriate to be outgoing when an animal was just put down. I will take those words in to consideration. I know that when I am first learning a job I am more serious and concentrating and trying to learn the ropes. I am going to chalk it up to not being a good personality fix.

Perhaps I should move in to something bigger where I can just be a cog in a giant machine. I wish I could make the boat gig work out year round.

(Also I know I have been down due to not working for a month and losing a friend last month as well. It has been a rough time) I didn't think it was showing that much.

Sorry for the rough time you're having. I know first hand that the grieving process for losing someone close goes on for a while, even after you start getting back into your routines. It's just something to live with until time helps heal the rest.

I was thinking I was over the worst part of it and for the most part I am. But maybe my energy and enthusiasm is lacking. (and it just wasn't a right fit) (according to them)
