Cassie do you have heat lamps for your chickens?

It is just gray here. More dirt than snow. I have a mound for f snow that turned to ice on my front path since I wasn't here to manage it when it first snowed.

No, I just wrap their coop in tarps and sheets. They are old ladies, so they can tolerate the cold better than babies.

I always think of that I Love Lucy episode where Lucy and Ethel bought 500 baby chicks before Fred had the henhouse ready, and they had to keep them in the house and turn the heat up to 90+ until the hatchery could send over some brooders...

Teens and 20s here still. Wwe're supposed to get snow again this weekend but it looks like maybe a couple inches on Sunday, so eh.

Back up to the 30s next week, with any luck.

I need to think about which of my water pipes need to be wrapped. I've been through several freezes so far this year, and everything has been fine, but I worry that 20 degrees will be much worse than 30.

Yes it is definitely closer to danger at those temps. Do you leave water dripping and cupboard doors open under the sinks?

I haven't had to do that in many years, but I am planning on dripping a sink somewhere.

ALSO, there is a frostbite warning. FROSTBITE IN FLORIDA. omg

I dug into my dresser and found my warmest pants, they are in the washer right now. lol

The cold is still here (10s-20s), but the winds are supposed to push the snow offshore tomorrow so we won't get any on land.
