It's a long story, and actually I doubt I will use it a lot. My company gave everyone Apple Watches (it's a small company), and offered a cash alternative. I asked about the cash alternative to put towards an iPad instead.

If it wasn't for that, I probably would have gone a lot longer without thinking about buying one.

Any company worth their salt would give out beer or whiskey.

Well we all work remotely from home, so don't ask, don't tell.

OMG IT'S SUCH A PAIN TO SET THESE THINGS UP

But that's because I do it all manually -- I don't use Apple's Sync functions because they don't work for me and it involves the Cloud which I avoid like the plague.

I've figured out what I will be using this device for most -- reading books.

After installing the Kindle app, I suddenly realized how many purchased/unread books I have stored up. Now I have a nice big screen to read them with, without having to sit at a PC.

I'M GONNA GIT SMART NOW, WATCH OUT.

I LOVE MY IPAD!

I mostly play stupid games on it, but I did find out I could put all my STOLEN books on my apple thingy and then read them with iBooks.

Oooooo, really?

Now when I go to those naughty sites for movies & TV shows & music, I'll have to start looking at the books section too!

I probably wouldn't want to read books on an iPad because I imagine the battery runs down a lot quicker than my Kindle Paperwhite and I can read that in the dark too. BUT I'M SURE IT'S GOOD.

The battery lasts all day, really. AND you can read in the dark. It's heavier than a reader tho, so you gotta prop it up on something if you're gonna read very long.

I was surprised at how long the battery is lasting on the iPad, I'm quite happy.

My iPhone, on the other hand, drains like a beer-soaked lizard.

Sometimes I play stupid games for hours, which probably uses more battery than reading. My ipad is getting old now, so sometimes the battery doesn't want to charge back up :rwmad:

I ordered mine around the time they were upgrading the line, so I got an upgraded model for the same price!

I play my same old games though - I'm currently re-hooked on Jungle Fruit.

My sister sent me a Galaxy 4 tablet for my birthday and IT'S SO DIFFERENT from the ipad. I don't know what to do with it, lol.
